And it’s so funny to go through their tags and see them complain about their blogs being deleted. Free speech my ass. If pedophiles got on tumblr and made posts about how sexy their 5 year old neighbor is and posted pics of toddlers in bikinis, would you cry free speech for…

I’m torn when it comes to pro-ana blogs. It’s a good outlet for girls who feel like they’re all alone. I realize it does so much damage though, little girls searching endlessly for ‘tips ‘n tricks’, thinspo, and what not.

It is THEIR blog though and they should be free to post what they like. Comparing pro-ana and mia blogs to pedophilia websites is way out of line.

Except it isn’t. Their argument is that it’s “free speech” and I would assume that if pedophiles started using tumblr they would make that argument as well. They would also say that it’s a good outlet for connecting with other pedophiles when they feel alone. The bottom line is that promoting self destructive behavior has no place on tumblr. If they want to reach out and connect with other sick girls, they can join a support group or start a Meetups for girls who hate their bodies. No one searching through the fitness or health tags should have to be confronted with their disgusting “motivational” pictures or depressing posts about how going from 102.6 to 102.9 is grounds for a week long fast. The “it’s my blog. I’ll blog about what I want” is a fallacy because then you have to support all blogs regardless of what they post and that would include pedophile blogs.

I fully support the decision to delete all blogs that promote body shame.
