sunnah-or-later:

No one wants to know Tawhîd? No one wants to know about usool ud dîn? No one wants to learn about the Salaf?

Where are our priorites?

I am sorry but how do you know the people who ask such questions are not striving to learn Tawhid, aqeedah and usool ud din? Sometimes resources on these are much more widely available and there is probably no need to ask here on Tumblr. However when it comes to rulings about certain issues, it becomes difficult to find the best and most authentic opinion on our own due to limited resources, probably. I see nothing wrong in asking questions besides tawhid etc if the answer to that one question could bring him/her closer to Allah. I never would have been interested in learning about the correct creed, the salafs, the manhaj of salaf-us-salleh if I did not ask/discuss/debate with Brother Dawud(http://talibulilm-dawud.tumblr.com/) about the ruling on masturbation about a year ago. So that’s how I established my aqeedah. So please don’t discourage people from asking any question.Allahu musta’an -end of rant-

Exactly. And what another sister said, it’s a reflection of the conditions we live in. The important thing here is seeking knowledge and one question about sex could lead to several other questions about other aspects of Islam. You won’t believe the lies that are out there about sex in Islam and how they are perpetrated by Muslims due to culture. Questions about sex can lead someone to study hadith sciences - something extremely important - when they hear about completely weak hadith. For example, we would not have such a problem with female genital mutilation in Islamic communities if people would not be shunned away for asking too many questions relating to sex. Hearing that there was even a hadith about this was enough for me to dive deeper into how hadiths are authenticated. Ask questions about anything relating to Islam.
